Mid-Level Urban Designer - Shanghai
Responsibilities:
• Independently evaluate, select, and apply standard urban design techniques, procedures, and criteria, using judgment in making minor adaptations and modifications on projects.
• Provide project or task management to develop urban design and planning concepts and translate them into clear and compelling graphic images.
• Develop solutions that effectively address the social, legal, and economic implications of the physical form; modify and/or review drawings, construction documentation and detailing.
• Confer with clients regarding design schemes and implementation.
• Coordinate and consult with federal, state and local regulatory agencies on scope and impact of project when necessary.
• Assist clients with public hearings or meetings and manages public outreach activities.
• Manage, prepare, correct and update documents;
• Manage scopes, schedules and budgets;
• Prepare for and participate in proposal interviews in addition to agency and client coordination and relations.
• Develop innovative solutions to problems.
• Assist in marketing efforts to current clientele and to identify and attract new clientele.

Requirements:
• Bachelor Degree in Urban Design or Planning or closely related fields. Master’s degree preferred.
• Generally requires 2 to 5 years experience in an urban designer role.
• Strong portfolio of built work which demonstrates excellent technical capabilities.
• Previous experience successfully managing small teams.
• Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills.
• Expertise in Adobe Design Collection, and AutoCAD. ArcGIS Suite a plus.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.


Junior Urban Designer - Shanghai
Responsibilities:
• Complete drafting assignments.
• Conduct research and analysis as needed for a project.
• Compile data, perform design computations, and prepare plans and renderings.
• Assist in the preparation of production of models, marketing material, and presentation packages for public/private review.
• Assist project manager or senior level staff in developing a design strategy.
• Attend meetings both inside and outside the firm pertaining to existing and potential projects.
• Provide additional support to ensure smooth execution of projects.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Urban Design or closely related fields.
• Promising portfolio of built work which demonstrates technical capabilities.
• Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills.
• Basic proficiency in AutoCAD and, Adobe Creative Suite software packages.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite as well as overall strong computer proficiency.
• Experience working with 3D programs such as Studio, Rhino, Sketch-up beneficial
• Good hand drawing skills also beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.


Senior Urbanist Architect - Shanghai
Responsibilities:
• Plays a key role in projects, as a lead, project manager, or critical designer.
• Leads projects that are medium to large in size: responsible for financial management of the project, ensuring key deadlines are met and that the project stays on schedule and staff are working together effectively.
• Develops design in response to technical problems posed by a project’s scope and create innovative design solution integrating multi-disciplinary inputs/consideration.
• Plays a key role in client management and client satisfaction.
• Plays key mentor for junior staff and contributor to studio’s design culture
• Contributes to marketing efforts to current clients and is instrumental in identifying and attracting new clients.

Requirements:
• 6-10 years’ post-graduate experience as an Architectural designer with at least 2 years experience in China.
• Bachelor’s in Architecture. Master’s degree in Architecture or Urban Design.
• Demonstrates strong architecture design capability with urban design understanding and design approaches.
• Strong portfolio of built work which demonstrates excellent technical capabilities.
• Experience working on large-scale international projects
• Be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Previous experience successfully managing small teams.
• Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills.
• Expertise in Adobe Design Collection, AutoCAD and preferably with fluency in Rhino and Grasshopper.
• Demonstrate strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Good hand drawing skills also beneficial.
• Chinese fluency is preferred and fluency in English required.


Urbanist Architect - Shanghai
Responsibilities:
• Strong design capabilities to assist project manager or senior level staff in developing design and strategies.
• Can independently lead small design assignments or manage small project
• Strong analytical skills to conduct research and analysis as needed for a project.
• Compile data, perform design computations, and prepare plans and renderings.
• Assist in the production of models, marketing material, and presentation packages for public/private review.

Requirements:
• Bachelor degree in Architecture and preferably with Masters degree in Urban Design or Architecture.
• 3-5 years post-graduate experience with some project experiences in China
• Promising portfolio demonstrating technical capabilities, preferably with built work
• Demonstrates strong architecture design capability/potential with urban design understanding and design approaches
• Excellent design, visualization, and graphic skills.
• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and, Adobe Creative Suite software packages,
• Strong 3D modeling and rendering skills, preferably with fluency in Rhino, Grasshopper or Sketch-Up
• Good hand drawing skills also beneficial.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational skills.
• Good communication skills and English essential. Fluency in Mandarin preferred.
