在中華民國科技部支持補助及與教育部、外交部、文化部、林務局等跨部會合作與台大實驗林以及民間各界奧援下，陽明交通大學跨領域設計科學研究中心（TDIS）團隊以國內第一棟重木構「台灣厝」，在號稱未來城與大學城的德國烏帕塔「Europe Solar Decathlon（永續綠建築能源屋十項全能大賽）」獲得「Architecture建築項目」金獎與「Innovation創新項目」銅獎雙料大獎！
支持跨域研究 結合臺灣在地文化
科技部積極支持結合在地文化、人文關懷及永續經營的跨領域科技研究，不只期望將研究創新具體落實於日常生活中，同時也向國際間推廣介紹臺灣如何實踐重視的核心價值。
陽明交通大學建築研究所的「台灣厝」以台灣舊街區與全球老城區為想像基地，以所有世代共居為願景，以再生能源與循環建材為基底，更以台灣自行研發的國產「台灣材」，提出未來建築設計三大處方：以被動式房屋的節能設計概念，結合AIoT室內自動調節，達到淨零耗能的「節能共享站」；以循環式建築的設計方法及產業整合，以「零碳中繼屋」達成居住平權的願景；最後以碳交易結合社會企業的經營模式，創造「社企合居宅」，達成永續經營與永續發展的目標。
團隊從台灣現在面臨的都市建築高度耗能、居住正義與都更停滯等當代居住困境出發，提出包含臺北、德國及全球已開發都市之永續都市發展策略白皮書，讓低碳、可負擔、跨世代健康共好的宜居都市「1 House for All」，期望從島國向世界擴散。
政府與產業協力助學研 力克遠征國際困難
科技部長期補助學研團隊參與國際學術組織會議及研究生出席國際會議，讓我國優質的研究團隊及學生站上國際舞台。近年受疫情影響，運輸艱鉅、物價飛漲更增加出國競賽重重關卡。
「台灣厝」的研發集結台灣產官學研各方之力共同投入，當年曾經親赴凡爾賽為「交大建研所「蘭花屋 Orchid House」」團隊加油的吳思瑤立法委員登高一呼，科技部、教育部、外交部、文化部，林務局與台大實驗林跨部會共同協力，以及主動自發的民間企業：東和鋼鐵、軒展帷幕門窗、強安威勝屋頂外牆、南亞塑膠循環建築系統、構見工設計制研、台灣歐特克/碁峰資訊等產業一起參與研發；更有眾多國內頂尖企業與建築師事務所投入奧援，歷經2年8個月的研發籌備期，才成就「台灣厝」本次遠征歐洲與世界頂尖大學同場競技的機會。
陽明交大生師團隊此次與全球其他11個國家19所大學團隊同場競逐大獎，學生不僅必須面對國際評審的訪視口試，也要對各國參觀者進行英文導覽， 參與世界文化與科技交流，充分展現所學。
強調永續環境、再生能源、循環經濟、青銀共居、都市再生、老屋改建的「台灣厝」，在團隊拿下建築金獎的時刻，贏得在場所有人起立鼓掌，能在以科技大國為傲的德國與強調環保與永續的歐盟贏得稱許，十分不易。
團隊在獲得建築與創新雙料大獎的加持下，6月25日將在當舉辦「台灣文化日」，這棟台灣厝也將原址轉型為期3年的長期實驗展示基地「Living Lab」，並在今後5年成為台德永續建築與雙方文化與各種科技交流的基地，這不只是該競賽的第一次，更是台灣團隊與台灣高教重要成就，科技部未來也將持續支持學研團隊參與國際舞台展現科研實力。
