朝陽科技大學建築系，為培育發掘建築設計創意人才，與國內12所學校14個跨領域設計科系合作「跨域Xdisciplinary2014國際競賽種子人才培訓營」，在一週密集訓練後，遴選9校15組專業競賽作品進軍國際競賽，2件特優、3件優選。
朝陽科大將培訓學生學習成果，投遞英國 SuperSkyScrapers 摩天大樓協會舉辦「Elevator Annual (2014) 概念電梯—特殊的垂直經驗」國際競賽，一共投遞15件作品參加國際競圖，7組的同學入圍最終決賽。
朝陽科大建築系系主任陳信安表示，跨域國際競賽培訓營，包含建築、室內設計、工業設計及視覺傳達設計系所學生。去年首次培訓學生參加，日本木構造協會國際競賽獲得「獎勵賞」肯定，這次英國競賽共40國600多件作品，能有5組獲獎，證明台灣設計軟實力不輸國際。
獲特優的朝陽科大建築系室內設計組學生王莓均表示，設計構想來家養魚魚缸，未來居住海底城市，利用海水浮力、海水淡化及環保生態概念，設計浮在海洋上海底城多功能電梯，構想融合海洋探險、思想前衛，獲評審青睞。
也獲優選的設計作品，參與設計的朝陽科大視覺傳達設計系學生鍾念庭，以機械手臂、爪子360度旋轉概念，設計摩天大樓間設有中繼樓層超級電梯，讓往返、上下各摩天大樓更為快速。
另件獲優選的作品，朝陽科大建築系學生許晉耀，設計醫療大樓的觸控彩虹電梯，利用光線折射原理設計可呈現彩虹般光影變化的電梯，同時結合收集雨水、享受陽光的功能。

Jury Summary:This project offers a building that works as a living organism and integrates with the context of the ocean and presents the lifts as an ocean exploration tools. And in doing so, presents a journey that gives an opportunity of an educational interaction between inhabitants and the ocean – assuring an interesting experience during transition. However, authors could have expanded on the proposed sustainable solutions and material.

Jury Summary: A courageous and abstract vision that underlines a new perspectives of the 『Journey’ and possibility of perceiving the world in a new way – space elevator. This journey pushes the limits of the human imagination balancing between science and faith.
It is a design that illustrates the human need for discovering the boundaries of the known world with the authors investigating the possibilities of decreasing the environmental impact of the building. It attempts to join a surface of the earth and the space without environmental impact. A sublime and convincing presentation.
